I'm a general practitioner, and I'm increasingly frustrated and concerned by the number of patients who present with mild, likely viral infections and demand antibiotics, often citing a previous prescription that "worked." This pressure, coupled with the very real threat of antibiotic resistance, puts me in a difficult position during short consultations.
