Why is the bus schedule so unreliable lately and what helped you?
#1
I’ve been trying to use the bus more lately to get downtown, but I keep running into the same frustrating thing—the schedule says one thing, but the actual arrival feels completely random. I waited almost twenty minutes yesterday for a line that’s supposed to come every ten. Is this just how it is now, or has anyone else noticed it getting less reliable? I’m starting to wonder if I should just keep driving.

That twenty minute wait for a line that is supposed to come every ten feels infuriating and just not fair when you are trying to plan your day.

Headways vary for many reasons like traffic delays vehicle spacing and uneven staffing making the timetable look off even when drivers are doing their best.

I guess the schedule is more like a loose guide not a promise so you can treat it as a suggestion rather than a guarantee.

Maybe the system is built to nudge riders toward driving rather than fix the timing.

The real question might be what counts as reliable when service is spread across many lines and shifts rather than a single steady stream.

Picture a scene where a rider waits while the bus you want keeps showing up late and it is easy to feel the schedule is a mood more than a plan.
