Why is quantum physics being used to model financial markets, and does it work?
#1
I was reading about how some researchers are using principles from quantum physics to model and potentially predict the behavior of complex financial markets, treating market fluctuations like quantum systems. It sounds like a huge stretch to me, applying superposition and entanglement metaphors to economics. Has anyone here looked into these cross-disciplinary applications seriously, and is there any legitimate scientific traction behind using quantum models outside of particle or condensed matter physics?
