Why does my new phone drain battery fast while I watch anime recommendations?

My new phone's battery life is just awful || I got this new phone last month and the battery life is terrible, it's dead by like 3 PM with just normal use. I checked the battery settings and nothing seems to be draining it unusually. My old phone lasted way longer. I'm starting to think I just got a bad unit or something. Maybe I need to just return it.

That sounds rough a brand new phone dying by 3 pm is not normal and it is really frustrating.

It could be a rogue app or misconfigured setting but it could also be a bad unit.

In my experience a factory reset and a fresh OS update fixed a bad drain on a new phone.

If nothing changes you should swap it under warranty rather than dealing with a lemon.
