Where can I find quiet coastal coves reachable by foot?
#1
I’m planning a trip to the coast next month and really want to avoid the usual crowded tourist beaches. I’ve heard there are some amazing hidden coves you can only reach on foot, but I’m a bit nervous about finding the right path and what to actually expect when I get there. Has anyone had a good experience finding one of these secluded spots?

the idea of hidden coves feels magical, a quiet secret the coast keeps for folks who will hike a bit, yet the thought of slick rocks and mist makes me a touch anxious.

I would start by looking for old local trails and not relying on glossy guides, then check tide safety and wear sturdy boots before chasing hidden coves.

this sounds grand but the coast has a way of refusing easy promises and the so called hidden coves can attract a nearby crowd.

what if the real point is learning to read the coast and deciding when to push on and when to turn back? the framing itself changes the mood.

you could try a guided small group walk to get the lay of the land then strike out on your own to a less obvious cove.

think about leave no trace and coastal stewardship as you pick your path and keep the sense of place alive without trampling the quiet
