I feel like I'm only using a fraction of what google analytics can actually tell me about my website visitors. What's one underrated report or feature you found that changed how you look at your data?

Path exploration in google analytics changed how I see journeys. It lays out the actual steps users take and where they cycle, not just what page they land on. It helped me spot dead ends and looping flows.

Cohort analysis in Explore is underrated. Group users by when they first came and watch retention roll up over time. It’s less flaky than daily retention charts and tells you if changes stick.

Funnel exploration beats the default funnels for real apps. You can model multi step events across screens, see where people drop, and adjust your events to improve flow.

BigQuery export plus Looker Studio lets you mix GA4 data with other sources and build dashboards that actually tell a story. It’s kinda the power user route, but worth it once you grow beyond canned reports.

Audiences and triggers matter more than you’d think. Build useful segments in GA4 and then use them to surface insights or tailor reporting. It also helps with testing changes during a GA4 migration and seeing how it affects google analytics data.

Set up a couple of custom metrics and watch anomalies with the built in Insights. It’s easy to miss if you stick to default reports, but it catches surprises early.
