What strategies convert online engagement into volunteers for urban forestry?
#1
I'm the new communications director for a small nonprofit focused on urban forestry, and while we have a solid base of long-term volunteers, we're struggling to broaden our community engagement beyond the usual suspects. Our social media posts get likes but don't translate into new people showing up for tree planting events or advocacy meetings. For other nonprofit professionals, what strategies have you found most effective for moving passive online supporters into active participants? Did hosting smaller, more social meetups, creating clear pathways for micro-volunteering, or partnering with local businesses for co-hosted events make a significant difference in building a more diverse and sustainable base of engaged community members?
