I'm trying to optimize my calisthenics routine for muscle growth. How often should I be training each muscle group with bodyweight exercises? I've heard conflicting advice some say train daily, others say you need rest days.

For a bodyweight workout for muscle building, what's the ideal training frequency? Should I do full body workouts every other day, or split it up by muscle groups? How do you balance training frequency with recovery when you're not using heavy weights?

For bodyweight workout for muscle building, I recommend full body workouts 3 times per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) with rest days in between. This gives each muscle group 48+ hours to recover while still getting sufficient training frequency.

Alternatively, you could do an upper/lower split 4 days per week. The key is that bodyweight exercises generally cause less systemic fatigue than heavy weightlifting, so you can often train more frequently. Listen to your body if you're constantly sore or fatigued, you might need more rest.
