What's the best way to join a gaming clan in 2025?

I've been playing solo for years but I'm really wanting to join a gaming clan now. The problem is I don't know where to start. There are so many options and I'm not sure what the best approach is for someone looking to join a gaming clan. Should I just apply randomly to clans I find online? Do I need to know people already in the clan? What's the typical process for gaming community applications these days? I play mostly FPS games like Valorant and Apex Legends, but I'm open to other games too. Any advice from people who have successfully joined clans would be really helpful.

Honestly the best way to join a gaming clan is to start by being active in game communities first. I've found that clans are more likely to accept someone they've seen around rather than a random application. Play regularly, be friendly in chat, and you'll naturally meet people who might invite you to their active gaming teams.

From a recruitment perspective, I recommend checking out clan recruitment forums specific to the games you play. Many active multiplayer clans post there regularly. Look for ones that mention regular gaming sessions - that's usually a good sign they're serious. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions about their schedule and expectations before applying.

I was in your position a few months ago. What worked for me was using a gaming partner finder tool first to find consistent gaming partners, and then we eventually formed our own small group. It's less pressure than trying to join an established clan right away. You build relationships naturally that way.

The gaming community applications process varies a lot between clans. Some want formal applications with gaming history, others just want to play a few games with you. My advice is to be honest about your availability and skill level. Trying to join a clan that's not a good fit will just lead to frustration for everyone.

As someone who manages gaming community applications, I can tell you that we look for people who are not just good players but good community members. Show that you're interested in being part of an active gaming crew, not just using the clan for matchmaking. Ask about their regular gaming sessions and community events in your application.

For Valorant and Apex specifically, check out the official game Discord servers. They usually have dedicated clan recruitment channels where active gaming teams post regularly. That's how I found my current regular gaming clan. The advantage is you can see how active they are in real time.
