What resources and activities teach digital citizenship to middle schoolers?
#1
I'm a middle school teacher developing a new unit on digital citizenship for my students, and I want to move beyond the basic "don't cyberbully" and "use strong passwords" lessons. I want to engage them in critical thinking about their online interactions, data privacy, and the ethics of sharing information. For other educators, what are the most effective resources or project-based activities you've used to teach these concepts? How do you make topics like algorithmic bias, digital footprints, and media literacy relevant and tangible for 12-year-olds who are digital natives but may not consider the long-term consequences of their online actions?
