What project-based activities engage freshmen in advanced digital citizenship?
#1
I'm a high school teacher developing a new unit on digital citizenship for our freshmen, and I'm struggling to move beyond the basic "don't cyberbully" and "check your privacy settings" lessons. My students are digitally native but often lack critical thinking about algorithms, misinformation, and their own data footprints. For other educators, what engaging activities or project-based learning approaches have you used to teach these more complex concepts? I'm looking for resources that help students analyze real-world examples of digital discourse, understand how platforms shape interaction, and consider their ethical responsibilities as content creators and sharers, not just consumers.
