What portfolio changes in reviews helped you land your first junior design role?
#1
I'm a recent graphic design graduate actively applying for junior designer roles, and after several rejections without interview requests, I'm starting to suspect my online portfolio might be the weak link. It showcases my academic projects well, but I'm worried it lacks the polish and professional context that hiring managers look for. For designers who have successfully landed their first industry job, what specific feedback did you receive or changes did you make during your portfolio review process that made the biggest difference, such as improving project case studies to explain your problem-solving, curating a more focused selection of work, or simply enhancing the presentation and loading speed of the portfolio website itself?
