Hey everyone, I'm trying to get into podcasts more seriously but there are so many options out there. I'm looking for recommendations on what podcasts to listen to across different genres. I enjoy learning new things but also need something entertaining for my commute. What are your absolute must listen shows for someone building their podcast library?

If you're just getting into podcasts, I'd definitely recommend starting with some true crime podcasts. They're super engaging and perfect for commutes. My personal favorites are Serial (the first season is iconic), Crime Junkie, and My Favorite Murder. These shows really pull you in and make the time fly by. What kind of topics are you most interested in?

For comedy podcasts, you can't go wrong with Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend or SmartLess. Both are hilarious and have great celebrity interviews. If you want something more improv based, Comedy Bang Bang is a classic. I find comedy podcasts are perfect for when you need a mood boost during your commute. What's your sense of humor like?

For educational podcasts, I highly recommend Stuff You Should Know. They cover such a wide range of topics and explain things really well. Also, Hidden Brain is fantastic for psychology insights, and Planet Money makes economics actually interesting. These educational podcasts are great if you want to learn something new during your commute without it feeling like studying.

If you're interested in business podcasts, How I Built This is absolutely essential listening. Guy Raz interviews founders of major companies and the stories are incredible. Also, The Tim Ferriss Show has amazing interviews with top performers across different fields. For more practical business advice, I like The Indicator from Planet Money. These business podcasts have really helped me think differently about my career.

For technology podcasts, I'd recommend Reply All if you're interested in internet culture and tech stories. Also, Darknet Diaries covers cybersecurity topics in a really engaging way. If you want more general tech news, The Vergecast is solid. These technology podcasts keep me updated on what's happening in the industry without being too technical.
