I travel frequently for photography and I'm always trying to optimize my photography travel gear setup. The constant struggle is balancing having the right equipment with keeping luggage weight reasonable.

For photography travel gear, the most important thing I've learned is to prioritize versatility over specialization. A good quality zoom lens that covers a useful range (like 24-70mm) is more valuable on the road than multiple prime lenses.
A compact, lightweight tripod that fits in your carry-on is essential photography travel gear. I use a carbon fiber model that's sturdy enough for most situations but doesn't add much weight.
Also, a power bank and international plug adapter. Being able to charge batteries anywhere is crucial when traveling, especially in countries with different electrical standards.
