In my observational research on human social behavior studies, I've been fascinated by what behaviors seem universal versus culturally specific. Some human behavior patterns appear remarkably consistent across different societies, while others vary dramatically.

For instance, basic emotional expressions seem to have some cross cultural consistency, but the rules about when and how to display those emotions vary widely. Human behavior research discoveries in this area really highlight both our shared humanity and our cultural diversity.

What behavioral research findings have you seen that suggest either universal human nature or significant cultural variation?
