I'm realizing that game development marketing lessons are just as important as technical skills. The biggest marketing lesson I've learned so far is to start building your audience early, not after the game is finished.

Another important marketing lesson is about creating consistent content. Regular updates, even small ones, keep people engaged with your project over the long development cycle.

Also, understanding your target audience is crucial. Trying to market to everyone usually means you connect with no one effectively.
