What election reform needs would make our democracy more representative?

Beyond campaign finance, I think we need to talk about broader election reform needs. The gerrymandering problems we have mean that in many districts, the election is effectively decided in the primary, not the general election. This pushes candidates to extremes and reduces political compromise lack.

Then there are the voter suppression issues that disproportionately affect certain communities. Whether it's restrictive ID laws, reduced polling places, or purging voter rolls, these tactics undermine faith in our democracy.

I'm also interested in ranked choice voting and other alternative systems that might reduce campaign negativity effects and encourage more civil campaigns. Has anyone seen good examples of election reforms that actually worked to make politics more representative and less divisive?
