What do mid-core clans value in recruits beyond stats and commitments?

I'm an experienced player looking to join a serious but not hyper-competitive clan for an upcoming tactical shooter, focusing on coordinated play and improving as a team rather than just chasing leaderboard ranks. Most clan recruitment posts I see are either for ultra-casual groups with no structure or elite teams requiring a grueling tryout process and strict daily hour commitments that I can't meet with my work schedule. For clan leaders or members in similar mid-core communities, what do you look for in a potential recruit beyond raw stats? I'm interested in how you assess communication skills and teamwork attitude, whether you use trial periods or scrims to evaluate fit, and how you balance maintaining an active roster with understanding that members have real-life obligations outside the game.

Nice concept. Beyond stats, I look for communication clarity, reliability, and how they handle feedback. A two-week, low-pressure trial with two scrims per week tends to filter out ego and highlight teamwork. Keep the roster small enough to manage, set clear practice times, and document decisions after each session so newcomers can catch up.
