What could cause intermittent sharp pain under my right rib cage?

Hey, has anyone else ever had this weird thing where you get a random, sharp pain under your right rib cage that comes and goes? It’s not constant, but it’ll just hit me sometimes when I’m sitting still, and then fade after a minute. I’m not sure if it’s something I pulled or something internal, and it’s got me a bit puzzled.

That sudden sharp pain under the right rib can feel alarming and it shows up in quiet moments which makes you second guess what it means.

From a distance this could be a muscle twitch a bit of gas or even a nerve thing gas can pinch and cause a neat quick flare when you are not moving much.

I am not convinced this is a sign of something dramatic yet if it repeats or worsens I would want a professional to check it out.

Maybe the framing is off If the issue only appears when you are still it might be about posture breathing or how you carry yourself in a chair rather than a deeper issue.

Keep a simple log of when it happens what you were doing what you had eaten and if other symptoms show up if the pain lasts more than a minute or comes with fever see someone.

One more thought the body often uses little signals to test limits and a quick pain is not a proof of danger but a prompt to listen and maybe adjust a habit or two.
