What can I do when my car voice assistant misreads commands?
#1
So I just got a new car with this fancy voice assistant that’s supposed to control everything, but honestly, it feels like we’re having two different conversations. I’ll ask it to play a specific album and it starts reading me the weather, or I’ll tell it to navigate home and it calls my mom. Am I the only one who ends up just yelling at the dashboard in frustration, or is there a trick to getting it to actually listen?

Yep I hear you. My car's voice assistant seems to want to chat about the weather whenever I ask for a playlist.

Could be the mic picking up the wrong cue or the context window misfiring. Check the settings, maybe train a few exact commands for music and for navigation.

Maybe it confuses mom with home because the contact or the model hears a similar pattern.

I get the sense the system is trying to be clever and ends up off track. Not sure if its design or a bug.

Maybe the premise that this gadget should juggle two tasks in one breath is misguided.

From a writing angle the rhythm of the prompts is off and it breaks the mood when you just want to drive.

If all else fails try a quick reset and a fresh set of phrases and see if it glues the two tasks together.
