What are your favorite philosophical thought experiments and why?
#1
I love philosophical thought experiments they're like mental playgrounds that help explore complex ideas. Some of my favorites include the trolley problem for ethics, the ship of Theseus for identity, and the brain in a vat for reality vs perception.

What I find interesting is how different people react to the same thought experiment. Some see clear answers, others see paradoxes. Some find them useful, others think they're too abstract.

I'm curious what thought experiments others find compelling. Do you have favorites that have changed how you think about something? Are there any that you think are particularly flawed or misleading?

Also, how do you use thought experiments in your own thinking? Do they help clarify your views, or do they mostly just create more questions?
