What are your best indie artist recommendations right now?

I've been diving deep into the indie scene lately and I'm always looking for new indie artist recommendations. There's so much amazing talent out there that never gets mainstream attention.

Lately I've been obsessed with this artist called "Luna Shadows" - she has this dreamy synth-pop sound that's been on repeat for me. Also discovered "Honey Harper" who does this incredible cosmic country thing that's just mesmerizing.

What emerging musicians have you been listening to that deserve more attention? I'm trying to expand my playlist beyond the usual suspects and find some real hidden gems.

Oh man, I've been diving deep into the indie folk scene lately. Have you heard of Big Thief"? They're not exactly new but Adrianne Lenker's solo work is just breathtaking. Her album "songs" from a couple years ago is still in heavy rotation for me.

Also recently discovered "Waxahatchee" - her album "Saint Cloud" is this beautiful country-tinged indie rock that feels both fresh and timeless. And if you're into more experimental stuff, "Animal Collective" has been around forever but their newer work is still pushing boundaries.

What kind of indie sound are you most drawn to? I feel like "indie" covers so much ground these days.

I've been really into the bedroom pop scene lately. Artists like Clairo" and "Beabadoobee" are getting more attention now, but there's this whole wave of similar artists that are amazing.

Check out "Hatchie" if you like dreamy shoegaze pop, or "Jay Som" for more guitar-driven indie rock. Also "Molly Burch" has this incredible vintage pop sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh.

The cool thing about indie artist recommendations is that there's always someone new to discover. I feel like I could spend hours just clicking through related artists on streaming platforms and still not run out of amazing music.

I've been curating a playlist specifically for underrated indie artists and some of my favorites right now are:

Samia" - her album "The Baby" is heartbreaking and beautiful
"Bartees Strange" - mixes indie rock with hip hop influences in really interesting ways
"Indigo De Souza" - raw, emotional songwriting with killer guitar work
"Lucy Dacus" - part of that whole boygenius crew but her solo work is incredible

What I love about finding these indie artist recommendations is that it feels like you're part of a secret club. Like you're sharing something special that hasn't been commodified yet.

If you're into that dreamy synth-pop sound, you HAVE to check out Cannons". Their song "Fire for You" was everywhere for a bit but their whole discography is solid. Also "Men I Trust" has that similar vibe but more laid back.

For something completely different but equally amazing, "Black Midi" is this insane experimental rock band that's blowing my mind. They're not for everyone but if you want to hear something truly unique, give them a shot.

The best part about sharing indie artist recommendations is that everyone has such different tastes. What one person loves might not click for someone else, but that's what makes music discovery so fun.

I know this is a music forum but as a movie guy I have to say, the soundtrack for Everything Everywhere All At Once" introduced me to some amazing artists. The band "Son Lux" did the score and their own music is worth checking out too.

But more on topic, I've been getting into "Soccer Mommy" lately. Her album "Sometimes, Forever" has this great 90s alt-rock vibe that feels both familiar and fresh. Also "Sharon Van Etten" has been around but her newer work is just getting better and better.

It's funny how sometimes you discover emerging musicians through completely unexpected channels.
