What are the most effective public transport accessibility improvements you've seen?
#1
As we work toward more accessible transit systems, I'm interested in what actually makes a difference for people with different types of disabilities. Some improvements are obvious: elevators, ramps, audio announcements. But others might be less visible but equally important.

I've been impressed by systems that go beyond minimum requirements. Things like tactile paving that continues from the street into the station, clear and consistent wayfinding, and staff trained in disability awareness.

Technology can help too. Apps with accessibility features, real time information in multiple formats, and payment systems that work for people with different abilities.

But I'm also curious about the less tangible aspects. Creating a culture where people feel welcome and supported, not just accommodated. That might be the hardest part of building truly accessible transit systems.

What public transport accessibility improvements have you found most effective or appreciated? And what still needs work?
