What affordable, inclusive fall and winter events work for our community group?

I'm on the planning committee for our neighborhood association and we're trying to organize more community events to bring people together. Last year's summer block party was a hit, but we're running out of ideas for the fall and winter months. We have a modest budget and a mix of families, seniors, and young professionals in the area. I'm looking for suggestions for affordable, inclusive events that could work in a community center or even outdoors if the weather cooperates. What kinds of events have been successful in your neighborhoods that actually get good turnout and foster a real sense of connection?

Potluck style events work well and cost almost nothing for organizers. Pick a fall theme like soups or chili and ask neighbors to bring a dish. A few chairs and a simple screen keep people hanging out.

Stop chasing big fancy plans. Do one easy event first and nail it before adding more. A simple wreath workshop or bake off fits the budget and still feels festive.

In our block we did a coat drive plus a bake off and a tiny local market which drew steady crowds for weeks without a big budget.

Not sure what will work in your town a quick resident survey can help pick two ideas and test them back to back to see what sticks.
