What’s the best vector design tool for logos and social media layouts?

I’m starting a side hustle designing logos and simple branding for local small businesses. I used to have access to the full Adobe Creative Suite through my old job, but now I’m on my own and can’t justify that monthly cost yet. I’ve been trying to do a proper graphic design software comparison to find an alternative, looking at Affinity Designer, Canva Pro, and even open-source options. It’s overwhelming. I need something robust enough for vector logo work that can also handle basic layout for social media graphics, but I’m unsure if a single tool can do it all well. I’m also worried about file compatibility—if I need to send editable files to a client or a printer later, will they be able to open them?
