I collect truck longevity records as a hobby. I'm always amazed at how some trucks just keep going. What's the highest mileage truck you've personally verified? I'm talking documented, not just "my uncle's friend had one." Bonus points if you know what maintenance was done to keep it running that long.

The highest verified truck longevity record I have is a 1992 Toyota Pickup with 1.2 million miles. Yes, million. It was used as a delivery vehicle in Arizona. Original engine rebuilt twice, transmission once. The dry climate helped, but still impressive. These truck longevity records show what's possible with proper care.

I worked on a 1989 Ford F250 with the 7.3L IDI diesel that had 890,000 miles. Still running when the owner sold it. The key was regular oil changes with good diesel oil and keeping the fuel system clean. No major overhauls, just consistent maintenance. These truck longevity records prove maintenance matters more than brand.

Our company has a 2001 Chevy 3500 dually with the 6.6L Duramax that just passed 750,000 miles. It's on its second transmission but original engine. Used for hauling equipment cross country. The truck longevity records show diesel trucks can reach incredible mileages if maintained properly, especially the older mechanical ones.

In our fleet records, the highest truck longevity record is a 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.9L Cummins at 620,000 miles. Still in service as a backup truck. The engine is legendary for durability. What's interesting is how many of these truck longevity records involve diesels - they're built for the long haul.
