Speculating on The Elder Scrolls VI release date given Bethesda's past cycles
#1
Like many fans, I've been eagerly awaiting any concrete news about The Elder Scrolls VI since that initial teaser trailer years ago. With Starfield's release now behind them, I'm trying to realistically speculate about a potential Elder Scrolls VI release date based on Bethesda's past development cycles. For others following this closely, what's your best guess for a launch window, and what factors are you considering? Do you think the integration of new technology from Microsoft will accelerate development, or will the sheer scale and expectations for the game push it further out? Are there any reliable industry patterns or insider hints that point to a likely announcement or release timeframe, or is it still purely in the realm of hopeful speculation?

Totally guessing here, but I’d put TES VI no earlier than 2026 and more realistically 2027–2029. It’s a massive, world-spanning RPG and Bethesda tends to push for polish. Microsoft’s backing could help with tooling and funding, but it might also raise the bar for features and QA, which can push a release window out rather than shrink it.
