I'm planning a six-month sabbatical next year and want to embrace the concept of slow travel, spending a month or more in just a few locations rather than hopping between countries. My goal is to actually live in a place, learn some basics of the local language, and develop a routine, but I'm unsure how to structure such a long trip logistically. I'm particularly concerned about visas for extended stays in Europe and finding affordable, furnished monthly rentals that aren't just tourist traps. Has anyone managed a similar long-term, immersive trip and have advice on planning and budgeting for it?
