Should I replace rotors or resurface, and where to apply brake grease on Civic?
#1
I'm trying to save some money by doing my first brake pad replacement on my 2017 Honda Civic. I've watched a few tutorials and feel confident about the process, but I'm unsure about a couple of specifics. Do I need to replace the rotors as well if they don't have deep grooves, or can I just have them resurfaced? Also, I've heard you're supposed to lubricate certain parts with brake grease but to keep it off the pads and rotors. Where exactly does the grease go, and is there a specific type I should use? I want to make sure I do this safely and correctly.
