Should I prioritize CPU or GPU in an $800 1080p gaming PC?
#1
I'm trying to build my first gaming PC with a strict budget of around $800 USD, not including peripherals. My goal is to play current titles like Elden Ring and Helldivers 2 at 1080p with decent settings and good frame rates, but I'm overwhelmed by part choices. I'm leaning towards an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 and an RX 6600 or similar GPU combo, but I'm unsure where to prioritize spending. Should I allocate more to the graphics card or the processor? Also, is it worth getting a cheaper motherboard and RAM now to afford a better GPU, or will that bottleneck the system? I'd love to see specific part lists or recommendations from anyone who has recently built a solid best budget gaming PC build that can handle modern games without breaking the bank.
