Should I follow the oil life monitor or mileage on my 2020 RAV4 Hybrid?

I drive a 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid that's due for its next oil change according to the maintenance minder, but I'm only at about 40% oil life with just over 5,000 miles since the last change, which was full synthetic. I'm trying to decide whether to follow the strict mileage interval I've always used, which would be now, or trust the car's own monitoring system and wait until it alerts me, potentially pushing it closer to 7,500 or even 10,000 miles. For other owners of newer vehicles with oil life monitors, how closely do you follow them versus sticking to a traditional schedule, especially with mostly city driving? Is there any downside to waiting for the alert, and does using full synthetic truly allow for these extended intervals without risking engine wear or voiding the warranty?
