Seeking indie games with strong writing or core mechanics for PC and Switch

I've played through most of the big AAA titles this year and I'm craving something with more unique artistry and innovative gameplay. I'm looking for indie game recommendations that have a strong narrative or a really compelling core mechanic, something that sticks with you. I loved the atmosphere of 'Inside' and the emotional depth of 'Celeste', but I'm open to any genre except for pure puzzle games or visual novels. What are some hidden gems from the last few years that have exceptional writing, art direction, or gameplay loops you couldn't put down? I'm on PC and Switch, and I prefer single-player experiences that offer a complete, memorable journey over endless roguelike loops.
