Ryzen 9 vs Core i9 for long Blender/Resolve workloads: benchmarks and thermals
#1
I'm building a new PC primarily for 3D rendering and video editing, and I'm trying to decide between the latest AMD Ryzen 9 and Intel Core i9 processors. I've been looking at CPU benchmarking results on various sites, but the numbers seem to vary wildly depending on the specific test. For my workload, which involves long, sustained multi-threaded tasks in Blender and DaVinci Resolve, what are the most relevant benchmarks to focus on, and is there a significant real-world difference in thermal performance and power draw between these two architectures that might affect my cooling solution choice?
