Privacy rights collide with safety in age verification debates (Reuters)
#1
I've been following the debate about new laws requiring age verification for social media and other websites. While the goal of protecting kids is important, I'm concerned about the privacy rights implications of forcing everyone to hand over sensitive personal data like a driver's license to a private company just to browse. Where do we draw the line between safety and creating a massive, hackable database of identities?
