My current setup uses a basic Flask app, but it's not very stable under concurrent loads and lacks proper authentication for my planned use with Home Assistant automations and a custom mobile app. For those who have built similar gateways, what framework or toolstack would you recommend for building a production-grade API gateway in a 2024 home environment? Should I be looking at FastAPI with Uvicorn workers, or is a more dedicated solution like Traefik or Kong API Gateway worth the complexity for a small-scale deployment? Also, how are you handling API key management and request throttling to prevent my own scripts from overloading the system?
