Need family streaming recommendations for kids and parents
#1
As a parent, I'm always looking for good family streaming recommendations. Disney+ at $13.99/month is obvious for kids, but Netflix at $15.49/month actually has a great kids section with solid parental controls. Amazon Prime Video (included with $139/year Prime) has some good educational content too.

What I really need help with is finding streaming content that both kids and parents can enjoy together. We've watched all the Pixar and DreamWorks stuff. Any hidden gems on streaming platforms that are truly family-friendly?

Also, any tips for setting up streaming apps guide for kids? I want to make sure they're only accessing age-appropriate content.

For family streaming recommendations, don't overlook PBS Kids which is completely free. Also, Hoopla and Kanopy are free streaming options available through many public libraries - they have excellent educational content for kids.

Netflix at $15.49/month has really improved their kids' section with good parental controls. You can set maturity levels for each profile and even lock the profile with a PIN.

Amazon Prime Video (included with $139/year Prime) has a decent selection of older educational shows like Reading Rainbow and Mr. Rogers.

For family streaming recommendations that both kids and parents can enjoy, try:
- The Mysterious Benedict Society on Disney+ ($13.99/month)
- Hilda on Netflix ($15.49/month)
- Bluey on Disney+ (parents love it as much as kids)
- The Dragon Prince on Netflix
- Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix/Paramount+

These shows have depth and quality writing that adults appreciate while still being appropriate for kids. They're perfect for family streaming nights.

Also, consider getting a streaming device with voice control for kids - makes it easier for them to find what they want without navigating complex menus.

For setting up streaming apps guide for kids, here's what I recommend:

1. Create separate kids profiles on each service
2. Use parental controls to restrict content by rating
3. Disable autoplay to prevent unexpected content
4. Set up PIN protection for adult profiles
5. Regularly check watch history

Disney+ at $13.99/month has the best parental controls in my opinion. You can set age limits and even disable specific shows or movies.

For hidden gems on streaming for families, check out:
- Over the Moon" on Netflix
- "Wolfwalkers" on Apple TV+ ($9.99/month)
- "The Mitchells vs. The Machines" on Netflix

These are excellent films that the whole family can enjoy together.
