My phone won't charge properly - what could be causing these smartphone charging pro
#1
Having some frustrating smartphone charging problems with my device. Sometimes it charges super slow, other times it doesn't charge at all unless I wiggle the cable. I've tried different chargers and cables but the issue persists. Could this be phone charging port issues or something else? Looking for some phone repair DIY methods before I take it to a shop.

As a repair tech, I see phone charging port issues all the time. The most common problem is lint and debris packed into the port. Try using a plastic toothpick (not metal!) to gently clean out the charging port. You'd be surprised how much gunk accumulates in there over time.

If cleaning doesn't help, it could be a damaged port. Before trying any phone repair DIY methods for port replacement, check if your phone supports wireless charging as a temporary solution. Some smartphone charging problems can be bypassed entirely with a good wireless charger.

Also check if it's the cable or the port. Try a different cable first - sometimes the cable's connector wears out before the port does. If a different cable works fine, then you just need a new cable, not port repair.
