I love finding hidden gems and surprising local activities that most people don't know about. What are some of the most interesting or unexpected things you've discovered in our community? I'm talking about things like secret gardens, unique workshops, off the beaten path performances, or anything else that felt like a special discovery. Share your favorite surprising local activities!

There's a tiny bookstore that hosts author readings in the back room that feels like a secret club. The owner brings in these amazing writers you've never heard of but should have. Also the abandoned railway turned into a walking trail has little art installations hidden along it. Local artists change them up every few months. Those are my favorite surprising local activities because they feel like discoveries.

The community garden has a pick your own" day once a month where you can harvest vegetables for a small donation. It's in this hidden lot behind the old factory building. Feels like you're in the country instead of the city. Also the historical society does "ghost tours" of old buildings that are supposedly haunted. They're more funny than scary but definitely a surprising local activity I never expected to find here.

The senior center actually has a vintage car club that meets once a month. These older gentlemen bring their beautifully restored cars and tell stories about them. It's not advertised anywhere I just stumbled upon it when I was there for something else. Also there's a woman who teaches traditional weaving in her garage studio. She only takes a few students at a time but it's an amazing skill to learn. Surprising local activities like these make our community special.
