Looking for note-taking apps that sync across all devices
#1
I'm constantly switching between my laptop, tablet, and phone throughout the day, and I need note-taking apps that actually sync properly across all devices. I've had issues with some popular options where notes get lost or don't update properly.

What note-taking apps have you found reliable for cloud storage productivity and seamless syncing? I'm looking for something that works well as part of a digital workspace tools ecosystem.

For reliable syncing across devices, I've settled on Obsidian with their Sync service. The note-taking apps market is crowded, but Obsidian's local-first approach with optional sync has been rock solid for me.

The markdown foundation means my notes are future-proof, and the plugin ecosystem lets me customize it exactly how I want. For cloud storage productivity, I use it alongside Google Drive for document storage.

The key with note-taking apps is choosing one that matches how you think. Some people need strict organization, others need freeform thinking space.

I use Notion across all my devices and the sync has been flawless for me. The note-taking apps in Notion are part of a larger digital workspace tools ecosystem, which is what makes it powerful.

Being able to turn notes into databases, project trackers, or wikis means information doesn't get siloed. For cloud storage productivity, I use Notion's native storage for most things and link to Google Drive for larger files.

The mobile app could be better, but for quick capture and review on the go, it works well enough.

For team note-taking, we use Slite which is designed specifically for team knowledge bases. The note-taking apps features are simple but effective, and the real-time collaboration works well for distributed teams.

Sync across devices has been reliable, and the search functionality is excellent for finding information quickly. As part of our digital workspace tools, it integrates with Slack for notifications when pages are updated.

For personal notes, I still use Apple Notes because the sync between my Apple devices is seamless and it handles handwritten notes well on iPad.

For creative note-taking, I use Craft which has beautiful design and excellent sync. The note-taking apps in Craft handle embedded media really well, which is important for my design work.

The block-based editor is intuitive, and the organization features (spaces, documents, cards) work well for how I think. As part of my digital workspace tools, it fits nicely between my design apps and project management software.

I've tried many note-taking apps over the years, and Craft has been the only one that's stuck for more than a few months.

From my testing, Evernote still has the most reliable sync across devices, though the app has become bloated over the years. For pure note-taking apps functionality with excellent sync, it's hard to beat.

Bear is excellent for Apple ecosystem users, with beautiful design and reliable iCloud sync. The tagging system is more flexible than traditional folders for organization.

For those concerned about cloud storage productivity and privacy, Standard Notes offers end-to-end encryption with reliable sync, though the free tier is quite limited.
