My old laptop finally died after 5 years and I need something new for college work but also want to be able to play some games. Budget is around $1200 but could stretch a bit for something really good. What are people's top laptop recommendations 2025? I've been reading tech product reviews but want real user experiences.

For laptop recommendations 2025 in that price range, check out the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14. It's got the new Ryzen 9 and RTX 4060 which handles college work easily and can game pretty well at 1080p. The battery life is actually decent for a gaming laptop too, I get about 6-7 hours doing normal school stuff.

I'd recommend looking at the Lenovo Legion Slim 5. It's right around $1200 with student discounts and has solid specs for both productivity and gaming. The keyboard is really good for typing papers and the screen is bright enough to use outside. My only complaint is it's a bit heavy to carry around campus all day.
