Is consciousness fundamental to reality? Nature of consciousness discussion
#1
I've been really fascinated by the nature of consciousness lately. What is it, exactly? Is it just a byproduct of brain activity, or is it something more fundamental?

Some philosophers and scientists argue that consciousness might be a basic property of the universe, like space and time. Others think it emerges from complex information processing.

This ties into questions about philosophy of consciousness and philosophy of reality. If consciousness is fundamental, does that change how we understand what's real? What about artificial intelligence if we create something that seems conscious, how would we know?

I'd love to hear what others think about this. Have you had experiences that made you question the nature of your own consciousness?
