I've recently moved to a new neighborhood and I'm finding it surprisingly difficult to stay informed about local community events beyond what's posted on the generic town Facebook page. I'm interested in smaller, more niche gatherings like book clubs, volunteer clean-up days, or beginner-friendly gardening workshops, but I don't know where to look or who to ask. For those who are well-connected in their own areas, what are the best offline and online resources you use to discover these kinds of hyper-local happenings, and how did you initially get involved to start building a sense of community beyond just being a resident? I'm hoping to meet people with similar interests, not just attend large, impersonal festivals.
