How to choose between Notion and Trello for math study and problem sets?
#1
I'm trying to organize my study schedule and track my progress through different problem sets, but I'm stuck between two tools. The whole Notion vs Trello debate has me going in circles—I set up a detailed system in one, but it feels too rigid, and the other seems too simple to hold all my notes. I'm not sure if I'm overcomplicating this or just using the wrong tool for math work.

I get the Notion vs Trello fog; I tried both for study schedules and problem sets, and the rigid structure in Notion felt like solving a math problem before I even knew the answer. Maybe start with one board that captures your main steps and a few cards for problem sets, then see what actually moves you forward

The Notion vs Trello hype is real, but neither fixed my workflow until I defined a minimal process

Could try a minimal setup: one calendar view for deadlines, one simple list for daily problems, and a single page for notes. Use the tool that you actually open and click into, not the full system you imagined.

I shifted from a detailed Notion system to a Trello board with a single project and a weekly review; I still juggle it, but I feel more in control of the work itself.

What counts as progress on a study schedule? If you can define success, the tool tends to follow; otherwise it becomes busywork?

People sell one switch as a cure all, but for me Notion and Trello were just time sinks; I ended up with a simple checklist and a calendar and called it a day
