How should players interpret vague patch notes and offer feedback?
#1
I play a competitive online game that just released a major balance patch, and the patch notes are incredibly vague, just listing percentage changes to abilities without any context on the developer's intent. This makes it really hard to understand how the meta is supposed to shift or what strategies are now being encouraged. For other players and analysts, how do you interpret these sparse patch notes? Do you rely on data mining, developer streams, or just extensive testing to figure out the real impact? What's the best way for a community to give constructive feedback when the notes lack the reasoning behind the changes, and have you seen developers improve their communication in response to this kind of critique?
