I was looking at google trends by country for a project, comparing interest in a specific technology. The data shows a huge spike in one country that doesn't make much sense given its usual adoption patterns. I'm wondering if a viral news story or a marketing campaign there could cause such an isolated spike, or if the data might just be noisy. How reliable is this data for drawing real conclusions about regional interest?
