How do you style oversized trousers so they look intentional?

I’ve been seeing so many people pull off the loose, oversized trousers look lately, and I finally tried a pair myself, but I just feel like I’m swimming in fabric. How do you style yours so it looks intentional and not like you just borrowed someone else’s pants?

I used to feel like I was swimming in loose pants too. What helped me was keeping the top tucked or half tucked and letting a clean ankle break show. The aim is to look intentional rather than baggy.

I am not sure this works for every body but for me a belt helps a lot. It gives the waist some shape even with roomy fabric.

I go with a chunky sneaker and a simple tee and a belt. It makes it feel deliberate rather than borrowed pants.

Try a midweight fabric with a slight taper at the ankle and a high rise. It keeps the bulk under control so you can walk around without tripping over fabric.

What if you pair the pants with a cropped jacket or a fitted top to balance the silhouette?

I once tried a pair and ended up rolling the cuffs to a small break and topping with a structured bag. It felt more studied than comfy but sometimes it works.
