How do you structure your sustainable daily routine?
#1
I'm trying to build a more sustainable daily routine but I'm struggling with consistency. Some days I remember all my eco habits, other days I fall back into old patterns. How do you structure your day to make sustainable choices easier? Do you have specific routines or systems that help you maintain your eco conscious changes?

Building a sustainable daily routine was a game changer for me. Here's what works:

Morning:
- Shower with bar products (5 min timer)
- Make coffee/tea in reusable mug
- Pack lunch in containers I washed the night before
- Check weather to decide walking/biking vs transit

Day:
- Keep reusable water bottle on desk
- Use natural light instead of overhead lights when possible
- Take walking breaks instead of coffee breaks sometimes

Evening:
- Meal prep while listening to podcast
- Sort waste (compost, recycling, landfill)
- Charge devices on smart power strip
- Plan next day's transportation

The key was making it a SYSTEM, not a bunch of individual decisions. Everything has its place and routine.

I love that system approach! For me, the biggest help was creating habit stacks" - attaching new sustainable habits to existing ones.

Examples:
- After brushing teeth, I check that all lights are off
- While coffee brews, I pack my lunch and reusable items
- When I get home, I immediately empty and wash containers
- Before bed, I set up coffee maker and check next day's plans

Also having dedicated spots for everything: reusable bags by the door, containers clean and ready, compost bin in easy reach.

The less mental energy required, the more likely I am to do it consistently.
