How do you apply game design principles to create engaging gameplay?
#1
I've been thinking a lot about game design principles lately, especially how to apply them effectively. Things like the loop of challenge and reward, meaningful choices, and player agency seem simple in theory but can be tricky to implement well.

One game design principle I always come back to is "easy to learn, difficult to master." Getting that balance right is what separates good games from great ones.

Another important principle is consistency in your game's rules and systems. Players get frustrated when things work one way in one situation and differently in another.

What game design principles do you find most important, and how do you apply them in your projects?
