How do I decide if I should switch from my unreliable bus route?
#1
I’ve been taking the same bus route to work for years, but lately the schedule just feels completely unreliable. I’m starting to wonder if I should just bite the bullet and try a different mode of transport altogether, maybe even look into a car sharing service. Has anyone else had their usual route fall apart on them and made a switch?

Yeah the bus route schedule has been unreliable lately and it hits you in the morning when you just want to get moving It feels like the rhythm you counted on is gone and now a small delay can throw off the whole day

From a planning mind the pattern of delays tells you there is a larger mess in the timing system The math is simple if the gap grows you waste more energy and time Maybe a car share could shave off hours but it depends on cost and grid of traffic

I am not sure swapping to car sharing fixes the problem It might just shift the stress to getting a ride and paying for it Do you really save time with a car share on a busy weekday

Perhaps the bigger question is not which vehicle you own but what cadence lets you live with the route The goal could be a mixed system that handles the surprises rather than a single plan

I stuck with the same bus route for years and tried a bike when the schedule collapsed It felt freeing for a while but wind and hills change the outcome sometimes The bus route remains the anchor but flexibility helps

Try a short two week trial of options track time mood and money then compare The key is to test without committing to a big change yet and keep notes on what actually lands for you
