How do I adjust aiming after upgrading to a high refresh rate monitor?
#1
So I finally upgraded to a high refresh rate monitor, and honestly, I'm a bit confused. The motion is obviously smoother in fast-paced shooters, but I can't shake this feeling that my aiming is actually slightly *off* now compared to my old 60Hz panel. It’s like my brain hasn't fully caught up to the fluidity yet. Has anyone else gone through this weird adjustment period where things look better but your muscle memory feels temporarily broken?

I know that feeling I moved to a high refresh rate and things look smoother but my aiming felt off for a couple of days my hands seemed to be learning a new tempo

Your brain has to relearn timing and changes in input latency so the old muscle memory can stall for a bit. Have you tried keeping the same sensitivity and letting your hands adjust?

Maybe the issue isnt about the brain catching up but about what you are chasing in the moment Is it possible the smoothness you notice changes how you read targets?

I am skeptical that the brain lag explains everything The monitor may be adding cues that feel different and that can throw off your usual sense of aim

Reframe it as a chance to tune the setup focus on consistency rather than raw speed you could try a small sensitivity tweak and see if the new rhythm sticks

Practice sessions will pass and the mismatch will fade or it may settle into a new normal the key is to stay curious about what feels off without forcing an old habit
